A few years ago, we were exactly where you might be right now—scared, confused, and completely blindsided. We’d heard of gambling addiction, sure. But we thought that meant casinos. Poker games. Not our kids, not their phones, not sports betting apps advertised during every football game.

We learned the hard way that this addiction is different. It’s invisible. It’s everywhere. And almost nobody is talking about it.

When we went looking for help, we found resources for our kids—but almost nothing for us, specifically for parents. No one was talking about what it’s like to love a child through this. How to help without making it worse. How to set boundaries when every instinct says to rescue them. How to take care of yourself when your world is falling apart.

So we found each other. And we started talking.

What we discovered changed everything: we weren’t alone. Other families—good families, loving families, families who did everything “right”—were going through the exact same thing. Sharing our experiences, our mistakes, and our small victories made us stronger. It made us better parents. And honestly? It kept some of us sane.

That’s why we built Parents Standing Together. Not as experts or clinicians, but as parents who’ve been in the trenches and want to help other families find their footing.

We’re still learning. Still growing. Still standing together.
